Are you quick with a banjo pick? Do you own a xylophone? Got an ol’ violin just gathering dust?
Well, it’s time to bring them out and show off those skills at our Summer Party Community Jam!
We’re asking all closet-Mozarts to bring out your secret skills and serenade us in the sun. It’s been a while? No need to worry - our in-house Maestro, Miro Tomarkin, is going to give everyone a refresher on a few simple chords, and you’ll have the opportunity to practice with your fellow performers in an upstairs studio space before joining the crowd.
You’ll be part of a group of other community performers, so those who are afraid of the spotlight don’t need to worry - there’s no solos!
(Unless you really want one…?)
So what do I have to do…?
Firstly: send us an email to let us know to expect you. We’ll be in touch the day before to say hello.
Second: beg, borrow, or dust off your own instrument. Pull out a new reed or re-string that bow.
Third: Just turn up. It’s that easy!
When you arrive on the day, let us know that you’re here for the jam - we’ll make sure you meet Miro and get an opportunity to practice a few chords together before you’re on to perform at 4:30pm.
The Community Jam is a safe and friendly space to experiment with new music, improvisation, in a group setting of friends, family, and neighbours. It’s as much about community spirit and giving it a go as it is about music. So if you’re no expert - no worries!
